Mission

Concept and implementation of an interactive advisor tool which facilitates the search for a suitable present. Especially for a new target group: non-gamers. The aim is to offer an involving additional benefit which makes the playful, lively characters from the Nintendo world perceivable.

Implementation

Two ways
The Flash application offers two possible entry points. Two different possibilities to find the ideal product. In the “Ask Mario” mode the user is directed through a multi-stage survey of questions to lead them to the perfect product. Competent advice from one of the most well-known Nintendo figures. Helpful product recommendations are also offered in the “Filter mode”. Here, the user can intuitively browse through the product portfolio. They can actively filter products by experimenting with control buttons and options. The user can find the right product withfilter settings such as age, gender, product category, game genre and game characteristics.

Performance and animation
The focus is on the playful interaction and the “joy of use”. Mouseover effects and sound architecture ensure an authentic Nintendo feel: popping, crackling and jiggling. Detailed information for every product is shown in a layer. With drag and drop the gifts can be saved into a personal favorites list and printed out.
