Razorfish expands to Spain

Acquisition further establishes the Razorfish network in Europe

Frankfurt am Main, 4. November 2008 – Razorfish, one of the largest digital marketing firms in the world, today announced the acquisition of Wysiwyg, one of Spain’s largest digital advertising agencies based in Madrid.

Wysiwyg (the name was inspired by the phrase "what you see is what you get") will retain its brand identity and be known as Wysiwyg, a Razorfish company. It will be managed by its existing leadership team.

Founded in 1995, Wysiwyg works across all digital platforms, from websites and digital ads to web video and mobile marketing. The privately held company has 56 employees in Madrid.

Furthermore, Wysiwyg has won numerous creative awards at shows such as Spain’s El Sol and Argentina’s FIAP (both shows are for Spain, Portugal and Latin America), Spain’s Laus (design) and Ampe (media) awards, Spanish Creative Club (CDC), One Show Interactive and New York Festivals. The company has also been short-listed several times at the Cannes Advertising Festival.

"This deal represents a significant milestone as we build our network in Europe, where we already have operations in France, UK and Germany," said Darin Brown, president of Razorfish Europe. "With every expansion, we strengthen our ability to meet our clients’ growing needs for pan-regional, digital marketing services." Razorfish Europe clients include Asda, International Olympic Committee, Weight Watchers, and Starwood Hotels.

For its part, Wysiwyg joined Razorfish because it has one of the largest all-digital global networks in the business, Rodríguez said. "Our clients are beginning to see the power of digital culture, how it is revolutionizing marketing and advertising across Europe, and requiring that their brands live not just on the Internet but on many different digital platforms," he said. "We are certainly proud of the identity we created for ourselves over the last 13 years. At the same time, Razorfish has a great reputation for innovation and we are thrilled to be part of an international company. Joining the network was the right thing to do for our business, our employees and our clients."
